Competition Format & Handicap Restrictions

President’s Putter, Beardsall, Williamson, Centenary, Moody, Hospital, Pawson and Captain’s Cups along with the Les Stones Memorial are played as Medal (stroke play) competitions with a maximum 24 handicap limit.

The Seddon & Goffin Cups are Stableford competitions with a maximum handicap of 36

The Bunnies Cup (Medal) has a minimum handicap limit of 18 handicap (max. 28)

The Bloomer (Gross Score) and Moss Cups (Nett Score) are played for on Men’s Championship Days. This 36 hole stroke play competition is played over 2 days with the Moss Cup having a 16 handicap limit. Entry is via the sheet placed on the Men's competition notice board and the entry fee for both rounds is in advance. As the Championship is a 36 hole event competitors are expected to play both rounds

The Sunday Morning 4 ball and the Bill Brown Rosebowl competitions are 4ball betterball medals using 90% of a 24 maximum handicap
The Robinson Cup is a Foursomes competition playing off ½ combined maximum 24
handicap.
The Curry Cup is for men aged 55 and over and is a medal format with a maximum handicap allowance of 36
The Chamber of Trade competition is a Par format whereby you play against the course with a maximum handicap allowance of 36

The Croft Baker Cup is a qualifier competition on the Saturday playing stroke play with 24 maximum handicap, then the top 16 go forward into a knock-out match play competition. Prizes are given to the top 3 on the medal round then for the losing semi-finalists and finalists.

Knock-out competitions:
Scratch - played without handicap
Roots - Matchplay playing off full difference with a maximum handicap of 24
R A Shield - Foursomes playing with ½ combined with a maximum handicap of 24
